2 – Clapton for the Win!

Eric Clapton is the only person inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame three times. In the early 1990’s he was inducted as a member of the Yardbirds (1992 – along with Chris Dreja, Jeff Beck, Jim McCarty, Jimmy Page, Keith Relf, Paul Samwell-Smith) and Cream (1993 – along with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce). In 2000 Clapton was inducted for his solo work. Interestingly, one of his most famous songs, “Layla”, was with another band – Derek and the Dominoes. So is it possible that Clapton could be a four time inductee? Not likely, as they have been eligible since 1996 and never been considered. To be considered for the Rock HOF you have to have released your first album 25 years previously and according to the Hall of Fame, “created music whose originality, impact and influence has changed the course of rock & roll”.

Today’s random trivia blog question:

  • Name the five U.S. cities that have at least one team in the four major sports (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL) that play within the city limits. (Bonus points and even more bragging rights, if you can name the teams.)
